Account books (1832-1838) relating to Mickle's lumber business in Camden, including names of many early residents; together with short account of his life, written by great-niece Rebecca (Mickle) Hemphill, reflecting John Mickle's abandonment of his maritime career due to the death of his brother, Isaac Mickle in 1823 and his subsequent move from Gloucester County to Camden in order to take over his brother's business interests and the care of his sister-in-law, Rebecca (Morgan) Mickle and her son, Isaac Mickle (1822-1855), later a lawyer.
